Kashmir Day

Kashmir Solidarity Day ( یوم یکجہتی کشمیر) is a national holiday observed in Pakistan on 5 February annually. It is observed to show Pakistan's support and unity with the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmiri separatists' efforts to secede from the Indian Republic, and to pay homage to the Kashmiris who have died in the conflict.[1][2] Solidarity rallies are held in the Pakistani-administered territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and by Mirpuri Kashmiris in the United Kingdom.
Special assemblies, speeches and activities will be held to mark solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Pakistan Resolution Day

Pakistan Resolution Day, celebrated annually on March 23rd, commemorates the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940, a pivotal moment when Muslims of British India called for autonomous Muslim-majority regions, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan in 1947. The day, also known as Pakistan Day,, marks the adoption of the Lahore Resolution by the All-India Muslim League, and is celebrated with national events, including military parades, flag-hoisting, and honoring the sacrifices of the nation's founders.
Students will participate in debates and presentations highlighting the Pakistan Resolution. Cultural programmes and exhibitions are planned.

Information desks and counselling sessions will be set up for new applicants. Prospectus and forms will be available from college office. All students are encouraged to participate in the admission process and show interest in joining the college.

Labour Day

Labor Day is a public holiday in Pakistan on May 1. All government and non-government organizations, factories and educational institutions remain closed. Laborers may willingly work on Labor Day, with or without payment of higher than normal wages. Public transport may be less frequent on certain routes.
Seminars and awareness sessions will focus on workers’ rights and social responsibility. Student societies will organise poster competitions.

Tree Plantation Campaign 2026

Government Graduate College for Women, Wapda Town, Lahore conducted a Tree Plantation Campaign on 31st August 2026. The initiative focused on expanding green cover, raising awareness about environmental sustainability, and inspiring students to actively participate in eco-friendly practices.

Principal Dr. Nazia Akram, Vice Principal Dr. Fauzia Rani, faculty, and students planted saplings across the college grounds.

75 Years of Pak-China Friendship

Creative Writing Exhibition

A Creative Writing Exhibition was organized at Govt. Graduate College for Women, WAPDA Town, Lahore under the supervision of Ms. Rabia Akram, Coordinator BS Programs. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their literary creativity and encourage self-expression through various forms of writing.

The exhibition featured a diverse range of creative work produced by BS Program students. The displays included haikus reflecting deep emotions and nature, original poems on social and personal themes, and imaginative children’s literature written for young readers. Students also presented thought-provoking quotations, excerpts and scripts from their original novels, engaging short stories across multiple genres, and well-compiled portfolio files showcasing their writing journey.

The Creative Writing Exhibition proved to be a highly successful and motivating event. It highlighted the dedication of Ms. Rabia Akram in nurturing literary talent and reflected the remarkable creative potential of GGCW students.

Worthy DPI Colleges Punjab Syed Ansar Azhar,worthy Director Colleges Mr Ahsan Mukhtar along with Deputy Director Suhail Mund and Deputy Director Waqas Ahmad Shabaz also gave grace to visit Exhibition.

Respectful Guests appreciated the efforts of students and encouraged them .He dicussed working projects with students and gave suggestions to make it more better .They admired undue efforts of Principal Dr Nazia Akram and vice Principal Dr Fauzia Rani and all staff members .In the end Principal Dr Nazia Akram presented souvenirs to guests and words of thanks to all.

Annual Sports Day was organized at Government Graduate College WAPDA Town , Lahore.In line with the initiative of Khailta Punjab taken by CM Punjab,Madam Maryam Nawaz,an energy has been instilled in our student body to take part in sports activities.The students participated in sports Day wholeheartedly and displayed immense enthusiasm.Different races ,games n gymnastics were the highlights of the event.The chief guest Dr Tahira Sikandar and Principal Dr Nazia Akram distributed trophies and medals among winning students.The students were motivated to participate in outdoor games to groom their overall personality.
