Academics

Our Departments

At Government Graduate College for Women Wapda Town Lahore, academic departments provide strong foundations in the sciences, humanities and professional disciplines. Each department is staffed by qualified faculty and equipped with modern laboratories and resources to encourage research and hands‑on learning.

Science & Mathematics

The Department of Science encompasses Chemistry. Our state‑of‑the‑art laboratories allow students to explore theoretical concepts through experiments, while experienced lecturers prepare them for higher studies and professional careers.

Commerce & Economics

This department covers Economics. Students learn financial principles and economic theory and gain insights into the corporate world through projects and seminars.

Arts & Languages

The Arts Department nurtures creative expression through programmes in English and Islamic Studies. Courses focus on literature, linguistics and cultural studies, fostering critical thinking and communication skills.

Social Sciences

Students interested in society and human behaviour can join departments such as Political Science. This disciplines encourage analytical thinking, research and community engagement.

Programmes Offered

The college offers a variety of programmes at intermediate and degree levels in accordance with the curriculum and regulations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and the University of the Punjab:

  • Intermediate (2 years): F.Sc. Pre‑Medical, F.Sc. Pre‑Engineering, F.A-Arts , f.A-IT and I.C.S.
  • Four‑Year BS Programmes: BS Chemistry, BS Political Science, BS English, BS Islamiyat and BS Economics.

Admissions

Admission Guidelines

Admissions to all programmes are granted purely on merit subject to Government policies and the rules of the Board and University. Please read the following guidelines before submitting your application:

  • Admissions open immediately after the announcement of Board/University results. Application forms can be obtained from the college office.
  • Incomplete forms or forms submitted without the required documents will not be considered.
  • Separate merit lists are prepared for each programme. Reserved seats are allocated according to government policies.
  • Candidates must present original documents at the time of interview and deposit of fee.
Admissions

Required Documents

  • Attested copies of Matric/Intermediate/Bachelor result cards and certificates.
  • Attested photocopy of the candidate’s B‑Form or National Identity Card and father/guardian’s CNIC.
  • Character certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
  • Four recent passport‑size photographs with a blue background.
  • Migration certificate (for candidates from other Boards/Universities).
Rules

Discipline & Uniform

  • Students must wear the prescribed college uniform at all times on campus.
  • Mobile phones are prohibited during college hours; violation may result in confiscation or disciplinary action.
  • Wearing jewellery or heavy make‑up is not permitted.
  • Late entry without permission is not allowed. Leaving the campus during college hours is strictly prohibited.
  • Students must observe silence and maintain discipline in the library and classroom.
